An angelfish has a thin, flat body like a pancake. It has a very small mouth. It eats plants that grow in the ocean. Some angelfish have long fins like ribbons. It likes to hunt for food during the daytime and hide in the coral reef at night.
A female angelfish lays hundreds of eggs at one time. The eggs float in the water until they are ready to hatch. Young angelfish look different than adult angelfish. They will change colors as they grow older.
Angelfish depend on the coral reefs. If the coral reefs are polluted and die, so will the beautiful angelfish.
