Angelfish are some of the most beautiful fish in the ocean. There are over 85 different kinds of angelfish. An angelfish can be red, blue, green, yellow or any other bright color. An angelfish likes to live in the warm waters near coral reefs. Its bright colors help it hide among the coral reefs.

An angelfish has a thin, flat body like a pancake. It has a very small mouth. It eats plants that grow in the ocean. Some angelfish have long fins like ribbons. It likes to hunt for food during the daytime and hide in the coral reef at night.

A female angelfish lays hundreds of eggs at one time. The eggs float in the water until they are ready to hatch. Young angelfish look different than adult angelfish. They will change colors as they grow older.

Angelfish depend on the coral reefs. If the coral reefs are polluted and die, so will the beautiful angelfish.
