The Burmese cat is friendly and relaxed. Like all cats, it is not relaxed if it is chased or bothered when sleeping. The Burmese cat likes to sit on your lap and sleep with you. A Burmese cat can be like a dog. It will sometimes fetch toys and will follow you around the house.

This cat has big gold or yellow eyes. It has a soft, sweet voice. The Burmese cat’s fur is shiny and feels like silk when you touch it. The cat’s coat can be brown, chocolate, blue-gray, red, cream or pink-gray.

A Burmese cat needs to stay in the house. It cannot take care of itself outdoors.

This cat is a very popular pet. The female Burmese likes to rule the house. The male Burmese enjoys sitting on your lap and supervising from a distance. Animals that looked like this cat were pets of kings and queens hundreds of years ago.

Cat Fact: It may be easier for a cat to hear a woman’s voice than a man’s voice. Most women have a higher pitch sound when talking.
