*Rainforest Habitat*
Topic(s):   Rainforest Animals

Look on a globe and find the equator. This is where you can find the tropical rainforests of the world. The largest rainforest is in South America. It is the Amazon Rainforest. There are also rainforests in Africa, Asia, and a small area of Australia.

It rains a lot in a tropical rainforest. It rains almost every day. The air is always wet and warm. It feels like summer all year long. More plants and animals live in the rainforest than anywhere else in the world.

Scientists divide the rainforest into four layers based on the living things. Starting at the top, the layers are called the emergent layer, the canopy, the understory, and the forest floor.
