Topic(s):   Weather

Air pollution is anything in the air that hurts living things or the environment. Some examples of air pollution are acid rain and smog.

People cause air pollution. Using fuel in houses, cars, and even factories causes air pollution. Carbon Dioxide is created when fuels are burned. Plants use carbon dioxide to create oxygen for humans to breathe. Humans create too much carbon dioxide for plants to use. This is bad for our environment.

Air pollution also happens inside. Tobacco smoke and paint fumes are a few types of inside air pollution. Indoor air pollution is worse for you than outdoor pollution. This is because you are inside for most of the day.

Governments, scientists, and teachers are all helping to prevent air pollution. What can you do? One good way is to recycle. Remember the 3 Rís. Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle.
